Radiation Oncology Team

The center’s board-certified radiation oncologists and physicists come from Washington University School of Medicine and are experts in the field. Dosimetrists, nurses, radiation therapists and support staff work at Christian Hospital because of their experience and extraordinary qualifications.

Staff members understand this is a difficult time for you and your family, and they want to make the experience as easy as possible for you. Our goal is to give you and your family excellent care and service.

Wade Thorstad, MD

Wade Thorstad, MDAs a radiation oncologist and nuclear medicine specialist, Dr. Wade Thorstad combines his medical knowledge with a passion for helping his patients. He concentrates on the treatment of cancers of the thorax, head and neck, and GI tract. He is especially interested in systemic radiotherapy, radioimmunotherapy, radioimmunodiagnosis, nuclear oncology and PET.

Dr. Thorstad is an assistant professor, radiation oncologist and chief of Head and Neck Cancer Service at Washington University.

Mackenzie Daly, MD

Mckenzie Daly, MDDr. Mackenzie Daly is a board-certified radiation oncologist, and has a special interest in breast, head and neck, and thoracic (chest) malignancy.

Dr. Daly graduated from the six-year combined BA/MD program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She completed her internship in internal medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, and her residency in radiation oncology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where she served as co-chief resident.

Dr. Daly is trained in the use of intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), high-dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy and stereotactic radiosurgery.

Jiayi Huang, MD

Jiayi Huang, MDDr. Jiayi Huang specializes in radiation oncology, neuro oncology, Gamma Knife and lymphoma. He received his bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry at Brandeis University, Waltham, Massachusetts in 2001, and his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester, Massachusetts. He did his residency in Radiation Oncology at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan, in 2012.

Dr. Huang’s areas of clinical interest are brain tumors, skull base tumors, spinal tumors and lymphoma. His procedure expertise is with Gamma Knife, stereotactic body radiation therapy, intensity-modulated radiation therapy and imaged-guided radiation therapy.
