Our HeartWatch Program
Our ambulances are equipped with 12-lead EKG machines, the same used in the Emergency Department, to begin diagnostic work immediately at the scene. The patient's EKG is transmitted from the ambulance to our Emergency Department via fax, phone or -- coming soon -- new Bluetooth wireless technology. While our ambulance is en route to Christian Hospital, our Heart Attack Rapid Response Team -- physicians, cardiologists, cardiac catheterization and intervention lab staff -- is activated instantly, preparing for the patient's arrival -- because every second counts.
