North County Loses a TON -- Literally!
North County has lost more than 2000 pounds thanks to the Lose to Win program, sponsored by Christian Hospital, Curves, the Suburban Journal, Emerson YMCA and McClain Chiropractic. The program inspired many North County residents to eat healthier, exercise a bit more and change their lifestyle.
The program started last year with 200 participants losing more than 800 pounds in the first round of the competition, and 400 participants losing more than 1900 pounds in the second round. The second round of the event filled up with more than 400 participants in less than five hours, demonstrating how people are looking for ways and motivation to get healthier.
Congratulations to our top three winners of the past Lose to Win competition!

Second Place: Jane Mark
Third Place: Susan Geerling
All the participants' stories were very inspiring. Jane Mark, our second place winner, was able to stop taking blood pressure medicine thanks to the weight she lost -- proving that your body benefits from weight loss just as much as your appearance does.
The next round of Lose to Win begins August 28, 2010, with a kick-off event. Registration for the event begins at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, by calling 314.747.WELL (314.747.9355) or toll-free 877.747.9355. Calls will not be taken before this time. You must be registered and must attend the kick-off event to be in the competition. Spaces fill quickly, so call early on August 10.
This is a great program, and Christian Hospital is excited and happy to be a part of making North County a healthier place.
