The Express Scripts Foundation awarded a $30,000 grant to the Christian Hospital Foundation to use for the Diabetes Busters mobile unit. The mobile unit provides more than 5,000 free screenings each year as part of the Christian Hospital Diabetes Institute's community outreach initiatives.
"With this support, our Diabetes Busters mobile unit will receive a number of renovations and improvements, including a new chair lift, that will increase the number of community members screened," says Rebecca Sellers, Foundation director. "We'll also be able to provide the A1C glucose screening for a more in-depth test, when necessary, and supplies for foot screenings. The grant also will be used toward general vehicle maintenance and repairs. Thanks to the generosity of the Express Scripts Foundation, we're able to improve health outcomes for significantly more members of our community."
As a health care organization, Express Scripts is committed to making a positive difference in communities where it has a significant presence.
