New Primary Care Physician at Hazelwood Convenient Care

BJC Medical Group is pleased to welcome Kwabena Owusu-Dekyi, MD, a primary care physician, to the practice in Hazelwood. The practice is located in the same suite as BJC Medical Group Convenient Care at Hazelwood, which makes establishing care with a dedicated primary care provider easy for patients in the area.

Dr. Owusu-Dekyi received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1995 and completed his residency in family practice at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. Prior to beginning his medical career, he received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry and biology from the University of Indianapolis in 1982 and a master’s in biochemistry from Indiana University in 1986.

Dr. Owusu-Dekyi is passionate about caring for patients throughout their lifetime. “I believe that every patient has value and should be treated with respect,” he says. “I listen to my patients closely and enjoy partnering with them to create a health plan.”

Dr. Owusu-Dekyi cares for patients of all ages and provides a variety of primary care services caring for conditions including, but not limited to, diabetes, hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, skin lesions, pediatric conditions, muscular disorders, depression and anxiety.

Dr. Owusu-Dekyi is married and they have a son. He is active in his community and enjoys reading and attending church.
