Neurology & Stroke Care

Rapid Treatment is Your Best Medicine

At Christian Hospital, our interdisciplinary team of neurologists, nurses and therapists deliver exceptional care to patients with neurological conditions, including strokes and seizures. Our team offers a comprehensive system for rapid diagnosis and treatment.

Neurology Care

In addition to award-winning stroke care, our neurologists also offer a range of treatments for seizures and chronic headaches. With diagnostic tools like electroencephalograms (EEG), our specialists are able to connect you with the care you need.

Stroke Care

Recognized for its excellence in stroke care, the stroke program at Christian Hospital is certified as a Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center and has received several American Heart Association’s Achievement Awards. Working in close coordination with the emergency department, patients have immediate access to brain imaging scans, evaluations with neurologists and clot-busting medication when necessary.

It’s important to know the warning signs of a stroke, so you can seek medical attention right away.

Each patient is provided with an individualized treatment plan, which is shared with the patient’s physician throughout their care. Most plans feature rehabilitation, which includes a combination of therapies and activities designed to help patients regain their independence.

Stroke Rehabilitation

People who have experienced strokes or other neurological disorders are likely to have residual medical issues. Stroke rehabilitation helps these individuals reach their highest level of independent function and return to productive living in their homes and communities.

This is accomplished through personalized programs of physical, occupational and speech therapy, as well as social and cognitive retraining, group treatment and education. The goal is to address any problems with:

  • Daily activities and self-care
  • Balance, coordination and mobility
  • Motor control, range of motion, strength and endurance
  • Self-feeding and swallowing
  • Communication and language skills
  • Memory, thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Vocational and leisure capabilities
  • Safety
