Acute Inpatient Therapy
For patients needing more intensive therapy following a stroke, brain injury, certain surgeries or other specific diagnoses, our acute inpatient therapy team provides the comprehensive and personalized care they need. Our compassionate occupational, physical and speech therapists focus on the best way to safely and efficiently transition patients home and back to their daily lives.
Our acute inpatient therapy team works out of our 18-bed Comprehensive Medical Rehabilitation (CMR) unit, which provides the specialized care acute therapy patients need. Based on our multidisciplinary approach to care, we work alongside Christian Hospital’s specialized medical staff to ensure every patient is given the support they need to be successful.
Therapy is focused on how to help the patient function at home — using the skills they’ll need once they’re no longer in the hospital.
Christian Hospital’s CMR is one of only a handful of its kind in the region, and has an extremely experienced staff. While patients may self-refer the department, the therapy team will perform an evaluation before they are admitted, to ensure they meet the criteria required for the program.
Christian Hospital and Northwest HealthCare, members of BJC HealthCare, provide world-class medical care to the communities of North County, Greater St. Louis County and Southern Illinois.
