Christian Hospital welcomes Milan Kahanda, MD, BJC Medical Group electrophysiologist!

By: Bret Berigan    1051 0

Christian Hospital is pleased to welcome Milan Kahanda, MD, who recently joined BJC Medical Group Cardiology as an electrophysiologist. He will see patients at their main office located on the campus of Northwest HealthCare. And in partnership with St. Louis Cardiology Consultants, he will see patients at their Christian Hospital location beginning in September. Both practices have secondary offices in Edwardsville and Alton, Illinois.

“I'm grateful to have the opportunity to join the experienced heart team at Christian Hospital,” Dr. Kahanda notes, “and I look forward to providing care for years to come to the patients throughout North County and southern Illinois using the state-of-the art equipment at Christian Hospital.”

Dr. Kahanda is board-certified and fellowship-trained, offering the most advanced treatments and procedures in electrophysiology. He earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College then completed his internal medicine residency at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

Dr. Kahanda completed his fellowship in cardiology at the University of Virginia and his fellowship in electrophysiology at Washington University School of Medicine.

Dr. Kahanda welcomes patients 18 years of age and above for a variety of procedures including pacemaker and defibrillator insertion, atrial fibrillation ablation, atrial flutter ablation, supraventricular tachycardia ablation, premature ventricular contraction and ventricular tachycardia ablation. He works closely with each of his patients to find the right treatment for their condition. He presents each treatment option, so they fully understand which plan best aligns with their goals. “Heart rhythm problems can have a significant impact on a patient's quality of life, and I want to be part of the reason they can get back out there and live their life,” says Dr. Kahanda.

Originally from New York, Dr. Kahanda met his wife in St. Louis where they now live with their son, daughter and two dogs. They enjoy visiting St. Louis’ many parks and exploring the St. Louis food scene. He can’t wait for his kids to get older to get them into golf and football.

To schedule an appointment with Dr. Kahanda at his BJC Medical Group Cardiology office at Northwest HealthCare, please call 314.953.6300. Or to schedule an appointment with him at St. Louis Cardiology Consultants’ location in Medical Office Building #2 at Christian Hospital, please call 314.839-5522.
