Stage 0, usually described as non-invasive breast cancer, there is no evidence of cancer outside the part of the breast in which the growth started.
The most common Stage 0 is Ductal Carcinoma in Situ (DCIS). This is the most common type of non-invasive breast cancer. It is non-invasive because the cancer cells have not yet spread beyond the milk duct into any normal breast tissue.
DCIS is not life threatening but can increase your risk of developing invasive breast cancer later.
