If you or a loved one needs radiation therapy for cancer treatment, you need to know the care being received is safe and appropriate. You want the caring and professional treatment of the Radiation Oncology Department at Christian Hospital’s Cancer Care Center.
Our Radiation Oncology Department has been accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) – American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO). To achieve ACR-ASTRO Accreditation, our facility’s personnel qualifications, equipment requirements, quality assurance and quality control procedures have gone through a rigorous review process and have met specific qualifications. It’s important for patients to know that every aspect of the ACR-ASTRO accreditation process is overseen by board-certified, expert radiation oncologists and medical physicists.
Our goal is to deliver excellent care and service to you and your family. Once you and your physician have agreed to move forward as part of an initial consultation the next step involves spending time with members of our radiation oncology team. Then you will begin working with your oncology physician on the development of a treatment plan specific to your needs and situation. Before treatment begins you will go through a radiation therapy simulation to help you become familiar with the radiation treatment process. We want you to be comfortable with us, and we want to get to know you and your family while we familiarize ourselves with your medical situation.
The Radiation Oncology Department at Christian Hospital features an innovative program with nationally recognized experts in the field. They are known for taking as much time as necessary to help patients and their families understand their options and feel comfortable with their choices.
