Colon cancer is one of the most common -- yet preventable -- types of cancers in both men and women. Plus, it’s one of the few cancers for which a simple screening also includes the treatment.

It’s important to get a colonoscopy if you’re 50 or older. If you have a family history of the disease or certain conditions affecting the colon, have the screening before you turn 50.

If you’ve never had a colonoscopy, talk to someone who has. They’ll tell you it’s no big deal. And if you’ve had a colonoscopy, do a favor for someone you love and let them know how easy and painless it is.
