Education plays a crucial role in the development of first responders, emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics. After recognizing a demand for emergency medical services (EMS) courses, Christian Hospital developed its EMS Academy for those interested in starting or furthering their education in the field.
Since opening in 2013, over 70 courses have been offered to students at the academy. Christian Hospital EMS (CHEMS) Academy provides a challenging yet rewarding curriculum for students looking to advance in the emergency medical services field. CHEMS Academy offers a wide selection of courses such as 12-lead EKG training, and many NAEMT courses in addition to the EMT and Paramedic programs. The Academy is focused on equipping students with the knowledge and resources needed to be successful on the job.
"We’ve been there. We’re giving our students real-world experience, preparing them for things that might happen or that they may see, with knowledge beyond what a book can provide.” Josh Malson, CHEMS Academy Primary Instructor
The level of support and attention students receive at Christian Hospital EMS Academy is unmatched. The instructors are passionate about sharing their knowledge with the future of EMS and providing them with the highest-quality EMS education possible. Teaching extends beyond the classroom with one-on-one tutoring and group study sessions. And unlike other programs, all of the instructors at CHEMS Academy are active paramedics.
